Year of New Beer: Hardcore IPA, BrewDog (Scotland)

Sweet, bready malts and juicy pineapple on the nose. On the tongue, the hop bitterness falls somewhat short of "Hardcore", but is certainly adequate. The citrus juiciness is balanced nicely by a caramel malt, while a prominent grapefruit rind dries the mouth on the finish. While not as intensely hardcore as many of todays imperial IPAs, I can imagine it was considered as such when first introduced. Good beer.
