Year of New Beer: Fantôme Chocolat, Brasserie Fantôme (Belgium)

Popping the cork on this bottle set off an eruption of foam that didn't calm down for almost 20 minutes. The aromas are that of yeasty funk, tart apple skin, and peppery spice. On the tongue is a fleeting glimmer of the cocoa powder I was expecting, and a brief spice that I assume is due to the chili peppers used in the brewing. Both are mild to say the least. Flavors are crisp and tart, grassy, finishing incredibly dry. Better as it warms, but not at all what I was expecting given the name.
