3rd Annual Lexington Craft Beer Week Kicks off May 9th

Events Celebrating Lexington's Beer Scene Runs May 9-17

Lexington, KY- After yet another year of record growth, Lexington's craft brewing community is planning to host the 3rd annual Lexington Craft Beer Week.  The celebration, organized by LexBeerScene.com, will run from Saturday May 9th through Sunday May 17th.

The week, featuring special events, tappings and tastings at bars and breweries across the city is sponsored by Country Boy Brewing, West Sixth Brewing, Blue Stallion Brewing, Brewgrass Trail, , Alltech Brewing and Distilling, and TOPS in Lexington.

The week kicks off on Friday, May 8th with a Lexington Legends game featuring a special local craft beer tasting area where representatives from the breweries will be on hand to talk about their products.

"We're really excited to add the Legends in as a partner for this year's beer week," said LexBeerScene.com head Chris Vandergrift.  "Having an event at Whitaker Bank Ballpark gives the week a family friendly event that will hopefully encourage people who may not be able to attend events at breweries or bars to learn about what's going on in Lexington's craft beer scene."

This will also be the third year Country Boy Brewing and West 6th Brewing have come together to make a collaboration beer.  Country Western, Volume III is an Imperial Red Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Pecans and Chocolate.  Bombers will be released on May 8th at both CBB and W6.  It will then be available on draught around town throughout the week.

Other events planned during the week include a Coffee and Beer Breakfast hosted by Country Boy Brewing, a West 6th Beer Dinner hosted at Winchell's on Southland, a special Pint Night at Pazzo's featuring a selection of local beers, a "Test Batch Takeover" at Blue Stallion where interesting and experimental recipes created by local homebrewers will be featured, and the Alltech Brewoff where the winning homebrewer will have their beer professionally brewed and win a trip to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO.
