The nose leads with toasted bread and nuts, followed quickly by some grapefruit and pine. On the tongue, the malt has a touch of toffee sweetness, while the citrus provides a bitterness that morphs into a sticky, resinous pine. Not as much caramel malt presence as I would've expected for an amber, instead coming off much more hoppy, which probably explains why I enjoyed it so much.
