Year of New Beer: Olde Gnarlywine, Lagunitas Brewing (CA)

Toffee and brown sugar are intertwined with a resinous pine on the nose as well as the tongue, with lesser notes of citrus and cured tobacco. With warmth, a bit of woodiness and spice arrive, along with a generous alcohol burn. This one packs a pretty significant hop bite that I believe would mellow and add a sweeter character to this beer with some age. Still an incredible value, as is the norm for Lagunitas.
