Year of New Beer: Mothman Black IPA, Greenbrier Valley Brewing (WV)

Pretty subdued nose overall, but warmth does open it up a bit, allowing some citrus peel, earthy pine, and dusty fall leaves to take the stage. On the tongue, a roasty bitterness leads the way, presenting as an almost charred coffee bean and semi-sweet chocolate. Elements of pine and toasted bread crust join the citrus. A faint, almost lactose sweetness comes on the finish. Pretty solid for the style.
