Year of New Beer: Petite Sour Raspberry, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (CO)

Written By: Dion on 02/07/2017

The sour is apparent on the nose from the get-go, as raspberries are joined by essence of lemon and green apple in an almost Gose-like aroma. Hints of dusty oak with warmth. The sharply acidic fruits transition to the tongue, biting and drying the mouth. The barrel character is evident, giving a slightly musty, vinous quality. Ultimately, the tart berries rule in this delicious concoction.
