Year of New Beer: Honky Tonk Flame, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington)

A collaboration with Tyler Childers for his 3 sold out shows at The Burl this weekend, this red ale brings an aroma of citrus peel, light caramel malt, and spiced bread crust. On the tongue, things lean more toward IPA, and I'm OK with that. A dank, peppery hop bite hits the taste buds initially, with an undercurrent of field grasses and toasted bread coming along with warmth. Nutty, earthy, and dry on the finish. Solid brew.
