Year of New Beer: Legend of Wooley Swamp, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington)

Written By: Dion on 12/21/2017

Deep notes of baker's chocolate and coffee bean lead the way, with molasses, dark fruit, and charred malt adding to the aromatic layers. On the tongue, an earthy roast quickly engulfs a hint of citrus pith, with traces of smoke and aged tobacco appearing on the mid-palate. Warmth brings a sneaky alcohol to a finish that coats the mouth with bitter chocolate, espresso, and burnt sugar. This beer may just be as dark and mysterious as Lucius Clay's Wooley Swamp. Luckily, you don't have to venture all the way to Booger Woods to find out. Instead, you can just head over to either the Georgetown or Lexington taproom tomorrow and see for yourself. Well done, Boys.
