Caramel and citrus with cured tobacco, oak, bourbon, and hints of toffee on the nose. Warmth brings an earthy pine that threatens with a slightly off-putting, green, nearly vegetal note. On the tongue, toasted bread crust and an almost rye spice are intertwined with brown sugar, vanilla, and a sneaky bourbon heat. The earthy hop note comes through alongside a citrus bite, with a dry, grassy bitterness prevailing on a sticky sweet, oaky finish. Not bad, but there just seems to be a bit too much going on, and the result seems a tad unbalanced.
