Year of New Beer (Rnd 1): Halfway Home, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington)

Finally I get around to trying the new pale ale from CBB, and it certainly lives up to the hype. A sharp citrus rind and cut grass fill the nose. Both aspects translate well to the tongue with just enough juicy fruit sweetness and graham cracker/shortbread malt to provide near perfect balance. This is indeed one of the most finely tuned beers to come out of this brewery. I used to think Cliffjumper was the hop kick that I most wanted to see canned on Chair Avenue...now I'm not so sure.
