Year of New Beer: 2012 Cuvee Delphine, De Struise Brouwers (Belgium)

A deep, rich aroma is highlighted by chocolate and dark, tart fruits, with cherries dominating. On the tongue, cherries are again featured, layered atop sweet cocoa, hints of oak, and coffee roast. The bourbon influence from the Four Roses barrels is very subtle, providing a nice touch of spice under the mildly tart fruits. This is one delicious beer.
