Year of New Beer: Ride the Lion, Clown Shoes (MA)

The nose is dominated by bourbon, with much lesser elements of raisins, dates, toasted bread crust and caramel. On the tongue is again a bourbon presence that takes center stage, tempered only slightly by toffee, caramel, and smoked oak. Finishes a touch sweet and still bourbon heavy. I think this could be a much better beer if the body were a bit bigger and the mouthfeel a tad thicker.
