
Year of New Beer: Revel Red, Stoudts Brewing (PA)

Toasted bread crust, mild brown sugar, and faint piney hops all coexist nicely in this amber/red ale. No one aspect of the beer stands out (or makes it outstanding), but it is smooth and modestly flavorful. Sometimes you need something that doesn't assault the palate in one extreme.
