Year of New Beer: Inukshuk IPA, O'Dempsey's (Atlanta)

A closer inspection of the label reveals that this beer is brewed at Thomas Creek Brewery in SC. Sweet, candied apricot on the nose, as well as a little sour note--good in a sour beer, not so good in an IPA. On the tongue, sweet malts rule and the beer has an almost chewy quality. The hops don't provide enough citrusy bitterness to make this a true IPA. More of a regular pale ale. Not horrible, just not the refreshing hop bite for which I was looking.
