Year of New Beer: Santa's Little Helper 2012, Mikkeller (Denmark)

Intertwined layers of deeply roasted malts, chocolate, cherries and raisins in both the aroma and taste. The tartness of the cherries never overpowers, and the same can be said for the sweetness of the raisins. Hints of brown sugar and caramel along with a mild alcohol heat. I can honestly say that I closed the 12 New Beers of Christmas with the best one.
