
Year of New Beer: Babayaga, Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project (MA)

An unusual nose consisting of many things, most notably some dark fruit, smoked wood chips, and a creme brulee like burnt sugar. On the tongue, the charred theme continues as toasted bread and roasty coffee bean are joined by a decent amount of hop bitterness, all heading toward a dry, astringent finish. Different, but solid.
