Year of New Beer: Piercing Pils, Dogfish Head Brewery (DE)

Unmistakable Saaz hops provide a grassy bitterness and a cracker malt adds a touch of sweetness on the nose. On the taste buds, mild pear sweetness giving way to a zesty citrus and slightly mineral-like quality. This is not a style I'm drawn to, but I was intrigued by the promise of pear. Wish it had been more prevalent. Overall, still a solid, refreshing brew.
