Year of New Beer: Oro Negro, Jackie O's Pub & Brewery (OH)

The nose is unmistakably cinnamon at the outset, resting on layers of coffee and bittersweet chocolate. On the tongue, the chocolate is initially sweet, but is quickly ushered aside by earthy, toasted nuts and the acidic roast of coffee bean. Traces of vanilla and spicy hops add depth to the continuing cinnamon and habañero burn. People can lose their minds over Cigar City Hunahpu, but this is right there with it, and much easier to come by.
