Year of New Beer: Zoe, Maine Beer Co (ME)

Beautiful in the glass, this beer is no less impressive on the nose. Citrus and pine are joined by toasted grains, biscuit, and hints of cured tobacco. The tongue is hit immediately by a leafy green bitterness that is complemented by a slightly nutty, woody component. Citrus pith and a subtle burnt sugar arrive mid-palate before drying out with pine on the finish. Excellent beer.
